the old black and white rug - the staple faithful!

While I tend to ere on the side of anonymity when it comes to decorating - i can think of nothing worse than people walking into a house and asking if you got the chairs at Space, the vase at temple and webster etc. I like a little surprise and a bit more of a unique aspect that isn't necessarily readily there on the High Street in its masses straight out of China.

Saying this - I am amazed at how frequently this Ikea rug does a good job under so many circumstances. Available world wide and probably sitting under something on every corner, it manages to always lift a scheme and add a certain cheekiness to a room.

black and white striped rug and a live edge table!

Black lacquer furniture, a beautifully arranged set of antique prints, a few golden accessories and a black and white striped rug... I will never get tired of it.

In the dining room: Navy walls, a vintage-style brass pendant light and a black and white striped rug come together here for a crisp, modern look. One red chair in the corner and an eclectic mix of art on the wall give this space a quirky edge. Wall paint: Almost Black, Benjamin Moore

key investment pieces - the dining table

At Stamp one of the most common reasons that Clients come to us is because they are having troubles deciding on their big items. They have been living with the Uni/ post Uni or hand me down furniture for some time and they are looking to make the move to an object that screams 'them' and will make them pleased as punch for years to come.

The two major players are style and functionality. You will hate it if either of these criteria's are not met head on, and be back in the market for a newy within the year. We guarantee it!

Today we thought we would show you some dining tables that have met both of these criteria's for some of our clients. A big thing to look for when choosing your next table is to be wary of the legs. Often Clients come to us with existing chairs and their eye on a new table and they are looking for reassurance before making the plunge. However the first thing we see is that their beautiful over sized wishbone chairs are not going to work with inverted splayed legs either when a poor dinner guest has to wrap their pins around a leg or a chair sits out awkwardly when not in use.

for more information on any of these tables please contact Stamp Interiors................

scouting for great stuff

i am often scouting the big www for beautiful pieces for clients. In my searches I often come across the most beautiful pieces that makes me want to swap my terrace house in Melbourne for a castle in Romania just to fill the rooms up. Some of the bits are so reasonable that it seems rude not to snap the up, others make me find myself wondering which to sell first - car, kidney or child.....

a bit of gardening on the inside

i love a bit of greenery inside and these days there seems to be more and more to choose from. I am wanting to put a bit of green in a light well and look at some of the ideas that I have found. So good!

Indoor plant...donkey tail. These are so cool! I grew this in WI inside but here in the low desert outside it will not withstand summer heat.

Rustic, chic and industrial...the best decor combination!

Princess and the Pea

It is increasingly becoming our thing to be asked to do nursery's. I am loving that people are becoming adventurous in what they want and that we are moving beyond a frills and a bit of gingham (gingham I will always have a special place for, frills perhaps less so!)

A theme that I am particularly keen on at the moment is the princess and the pea look! This works particularly well in a girls room and is so simple to do.... just a few layers of quilts or blankets get the look going.

love for playroom, especially funky fabric combo

i have always been a fan of the bolster - in the bedroom, on the sofa, softening up a bench seat. So easy and just a little bit less expected than a simple scatter cushion

Engine-Inspired V12 Espresso Machine by Espresso Veloce

Everyone around me knows that I am nearly just as happy trawling through car magazines as I am Interiors ones, so imagine my delight when Design Milk Daily Digest bought this bit of Vrroom to my attention!

Johannesburg-based company, Espresso Veloce arguably crafts some of the world’s most beautiful espresso machines. Taking inspiration from complex Formula One engines, their pieces have become an expressive—and functional—piece of automotive art

V12 is the Espresso Veloce’s newest machine. It’s handcrafted from magnesium, titanium, and aluminum pieces that come together to form a top-notch beauty. From it’s modern aesthetic to its intricate inner workings, the V12 embodies the power and design of a 12-cylinder engine.

So now you want some espresso? To start the machine press one of the two buttons (for a single or double shot). A high-pressure pump moves water through an in-line heat exchange and then into the group head capsule. The high-pressurized water passes through the group head, which then dispenses out of one of the 12 titanium exhaust pipes.

Need your caffeine fast? From start to finish, the V12 makes your espresso in 16 seconds flat! But be speedy only 500 have been made!
