I am just in love with all of this. Too good. Cleverly found by Soph, I had to share it with everyone. Just shows you don't have to have a big space to make a big impact....

art deco in vogue
I have always loved the masculinity of Art Deco - dark lacquers, gilt a chunk of turquoise and bob hair cuts! while having a play on pinterest I came across these images showing a more feminine side - care of vogue. divine!
we had to put in some skiing!

stunning bedside tables as shown at Maison & Objet Paris
Hot off the Press! - this just through from Gervasoni - Leti & Co at Maison & Objet in Paris care of Brownlow Interiors.
Love the side tables. We upholstered bedroom side tables for a client last year. Such a good effect at bringing the room together.

cheeky Dutch house by denieuwegeneratie
Soph found this amazing house on design milk.
denieuwegeneratie is a small Amsterdam-based design firm with three young designers. They designed this partially buried home, built into the landscape of a nature reserve in The Netherlands. It emerges from the hill on two sides with large glass fronts framed in lark wood. Dutch Mountain was embedded into the artificial hill to both camouflage and act as thermal insulation for the house.
The rectangular house is, for the most part, a large open space. The interior spaces are built out of wooden structures that will make it easy for the family to make changes to in the future if need be.
A private and eco-friendly home that they’ve personalized to make their own sounds like the perfect mixture in this unique space.

the trip - from the start
as some of you will know my reasons for being some what absence over the last weeks (months..!) is that we caught the travel bug after Anthony Wiggle Garden to us, otherwise known as Anthea Peers to her boss at Christies and Anthea Heather to her now husband, invited me to be her bridesmaid in London this September. In a great rush of excitement we set of for a 6 week excursion in bits of Asia and Europe. I was inspired by so many beautiful things and want to share a few of the beautiful things I found along the way in my next posts.
Here are some highlights - enjoy!

the Foundation Maeght in Saint Paul de Vence. An fabulous art foundation in one of the most incredible areas of the world, where Impressionism started....
this stunning old merchant traders house is an incredible example of Colonial architecture in Penang, right on the water front of the Malacca Straights. I first came across this house 3 and a half years ago and each time I go back to Penang I cross my fingers it hasn't been pulled down for some hideous high rise
