what to put on the walls next?

stumbled across these first two fresco's when having a look at VT Interiors blog - it is fantastic have a look www.vtinteriors.blogspot.com and it got me thinking that we don't use our walls to their greatest capacity - sometimes painting them one fabulous bold colour but more often than not choosing one of the hundred's of whites on the market. Here are some more options........

vintage manuel canovas lampshades

I did these stunning lampshades using a vintage Manuel Canovas print that was originally a sofa cover. they look fabulous with the black & white ticking euro pillows. We are going to make the whole bedroom a melody of different greens which I will share as it comes together. See you at Warrambeen!

black and white rising

While i have made no secret of my love affair with blue, i have had it pointed out to me a few times that this love affair stretches to black & white. I wish it wasn't currently so 'on trend' as i love it's simple sophistication and effortless style. These are qualities that should prevail through fashion fads (- rather like putting on a trusty little black dress) & this is the angle i am taking while 'discussing' with my husband, painting the staircase (which is currently a beautiful stained victorian oak) in black and white stripes....

here are some stairs which show off the two colours beautifully.

i love it with the pink!

just because.....

beautiful outdoors

I am hoping to have these beautiful paving stones put down in our backyard. They are the estilo range by australbricks, finished in a satin gloss they add a bit of european sophistication to a little space. I am thinking beautiful weather pots full of herbs & shrub trees.

Gothenburg apartment shows off European beauty

I love the European architecture and history that we don't have in Australia. Stunning architraves and huge windows are just a glimpse of what we often miss out on here. This Swedish apartment in Gothenburg has got a very easy fit out - but its beautiful windows, high ceilings and lovely architectural fittings add a bit of punch to it.

after being rather anti I have my tail between my legs & am now rather pro - & a rather excited pro - twitter. so much fun! i have interior decorators from all over the world sending me their latest accomplishments at all times of the day - this morning I woke up to 13 messages on my phone filled with apartments in Israel, a victorian terrace in Sydney and my all time favourite - a cabin at 'chicken point' (thinking that could be somewhere in the US. glassssssssssssss

I have been researching glass doors recently as we would like to put one in to allow light that comes from a skylight in one room, flow through into the adjoining room. I was looking for simple frosted doors & came across all these variations - it is incredible where the imagination will take you. All images shown are designed & made in Australia, & prints on glass will even custom make any door/wall from your own photographs - amazing!!

christmas holidays in tas

We loved being back in beautiful Tasmania for Christmas. Here are some pictures of the Alice in Wonderland Christmas theme- all the babies loved it and the adults got into the spirit of it! The day started off gloomy but broke into wonderful sunshine by the time we all sat down - but unfortunately the shots I got were under cloud.

We then jumped in the car to Swansea and enjoyed a couple of glorious days at the beach. Here are some of the babies jumping around in the water - enjoying the beach whether it was 5 degrees or 25!!
